Miss CHAN Shin Kwan Meimei has been a member of the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR) since 2015. Her specialty is in literature and education. Her Master thesis was on children’s literature and she has worked as an English literature teacher for 15 years. She gives talks on using picture books for life education and enjoys storytelling with children tremendously. She is currently the Principal of SKH Holy Trinity Secondary School.
President, Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education
Professor Shen Shir Ming has been in the academic field for 40 years. She is a graduate of HKU and of Imperial College London. She was the first-ever female faculty member of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) Department of Statistics and later became the first ever female Dean of the HKU Faculty of Social Sciences. In 1998, she was invited to become the Deputy Director of the School of Professional and Continuing Education of the University of Hong Kong (HKU SPACE) where she contributed tremendously in lifelong learning
Professor Shen has great interest in performing arts. She was a ballet teacher and has been a promoter of dance education for decades. She was the Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Dance Company and has been the Director of Hong Kong Ballet Group since its incorporation. Continuing her service to lifelong learning, Professor Shen is currently the President of Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education which is a degree awarding institution specializes in training professionals in early childhood education.

Helen has had diverse careers in finance, consulting and higher education, spanning across Japan, Hong Kong, and China. Currently the Head of Strategic Development at Asia Society Hong Kong, she is responsible for external partnerships, fundraising, and strategic development. She previously worked in the finance industry, including Mitsubishi Trust in Japan, and UBS in Hong Kong, China, and Japan. Born and raised in Hong Kong, she obtained her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Columbia University. Helen speaks fluent Chinese and Japanese. Her community engagements include President of Columbia Alumni Association in Hong Kong, First Vice President of Zonta Club of Victoria, and Director of Young Entrepreneur Development Council.
Artistic Director of Prospects Theatre Company and Hong Kong Theatre Works
Hardy is known for his promotion of local community theatre and drama education. His creative work include original plays such as Shamshuipo Lear, Simply Charles and Brandon & Louise, all imbued with local social issues. After finishing the first three plays in his Cultural China series, Water Margin, Three Kingdoms and RJ Peony (a cross-over piece between Romeo & Julietand The Peony Pavilion), he is currently writing a play about the great poet Du Fu, which is scheduled for April 2019.

With a Bachelor of Arts in English and Master of Business Administration (San Francisco State University), Pauline has worked over 10 years with Hong Kong’s two largest employers in private and public sectors, HSBC and the HKSAR Government, in communications and training capacities. She has conducted over 600 seminars and workshops on public speaking, high-impact communications and storytelling for multinational corporations and nonprofit organizations.
Pauline has conducted author's programs, language clinics, early literacy workshops, creative "playshops" and speech camps for over 300 schools, libraries, bookstores, community centers and private functions in the US, China and Hong Kong. Since 2011, Pauline has been a trainer for Bring Me A Book (Hong Kong). She is the author of children's books, "Socks Heaven" published in 2004 (paperback edition 2005), and "Are You Resourceful" in 2010.

Professor Chan Wai Ying has worked for the sectors of television and newspapers. She is currently teaching Modern Literature, Travel Writing and Children Literature in Lingnan University. Her publications include “Sensibility, Self, Image -- A Study of Modern Chinese Lyrical Fiction”, “The Hong Kong Time”, “City Wanderings”, etc. Her latest research is about the children’s reading habit.

Phyllis Cheung is the Executive Director of Hong Kong Unison, a local NGO that upholds racial equality and the rights of ethnic minority residents in Hong Kong. She leads Unison to lobby for amending the Race Discrimination Ordinance as well as for inclusive and equitable education opportunities for ethnic minorities. She is particularly concerned about the Chinese language abilities of ethnic minority children who are born and raised in Hong Kong. Phyllis has extensive experience working with communities and civil society organisations in Africa, South Asia and Southeast Asia.

Jenny Wang has been working in Journalism industry for five years, covering news on a wide range of topics. She is good at writing feature stories and English broadcasting. She has won best news awards in two consecutive years in the annual contest by the Newspaper Society of Hong Kong.

Echo Wai is the Production Manager of Radio Television Hong Kong since July 2018. She began her career at RTHK in 1993 and has been radio programme producer and presenter as well. She has also taken up the Head of Culture and Education Unit and Head of Digital Audio Broadcasting in 2011 and 2016 respectively. Under her supervision, the Hong Kong Children Storytelling Competition, the Best Voice Competition of Audio Book and the Speaker have been launched successfully.
