• 50 schools will participate, based on a first-come first-served basis of registration.
  • Preliminary Round (Story writing): Min 3 and max 10 students per category per group per school
  • Qualifier Round (Story narration): Min 5 and max 10 students per category per group per school
  • Finals (Storytelling): Top 3 scorers per category per school will proceed to the Final Round.
  • Workshop 1: Max 150 students per participating school per online session
  • Workshop 2: Max 150 students per school
  • The Preliminary Round and the Qualifier Round are intra-school and online submission-based competition rounds. The Finals will be held in an independent venue in Hong Kong.
  • Three stories from the story writing competition with an additional story from Teacup will be given to the participants of the Qualifier Round and the Final Round. The stories will be the same for both rounds. Stories will be different for Group A and Group B and will be category based.
  • All stories will be made available to each participating school before workshop 2. The stories will be sent via email.
  • As a trilingual based competition, the story will be broken up into sections of English, Cantonese and Putonghua
  • No, there is no cost to the schools or students to enter.
  • Story writing- Creativity, Fluency, Grammar & Vocabulary, Language, Character Limit, Overall Structure
  • Storytelling- Diction, Voice, Language, Delivery, Articulation, Expression, Confidence, Memorization, Time, Overall Presentation
  • All judges will be external individuals to ensure impartiality. The panel of judges will be made up of people who have skills in all three languages being tested.
  • Contestants from each round will receive a Certificate of Participation.
  • For the Final Round- Trophies, Medals, Certificates, and Book Vouchers worth $1500, $1000 & $ 500 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners respectively and Medals, Certificates and Book Vouchers worth $250 for the remaining.
